VILLAGE FRAMEWORK BOUNDARY

Christian Malford Village has what is known as a Framework Boundary.  Applications for development within the boundary are governed by a different policy to those outside the boundary.  Proposals for development outside the framework boundary are considered to be developments in the countryside.

PLANNING APPLICATIONS

Planning decisions are normally made by the Planning Officers at  Wiltshire  Council, using the policies published in the North Wiltshire Local Plan (2011) .  Occasionally decisions are made by a Committee of Wiltshire Councillors, but only when at least five letters of objection are received or at least two  Councillors request it.  Usually, but not always, the Committee accepts the recommendation of the Planning Officer dealing with the case.

The Parish Council is a statutory consultee and receives copies of all planning applications within its area, and has up to three weeks to make comments to the local planning authority  The Parish Council will always reply to Wiltshire Council, even if it is simply "no comment", which in the majority of cases it is.  The Parish Council is obliged to inform the planning authority of any local circumstances which may affect the outcome of an application or it believes may not be known by Planning Officers.  Neighbours closely affected by a development are also notified by the planning authority.

Any individual may make comments to the planning authority direct, in writing to "The Planning Department,  Wiltshire Council, Monkton Park, Chippenham, SN15 1ER"

Planning applications may be viewed on the Wiltshire Council website www.wiltshire.gov.uk/ and comments on current applications may also be made through their website.
