Table Tennis Club - Mar 2009:
The season finished at the end of March and will re-start in October. Mrs Vilma Chapman has run the Club now for the last eleven seasons. They have had some fun matches, home and away, Christmas meals and celebratory drinks at The Rising Sun, and after club nights Sue lays on chips for them all (so hard to resist)! With the Club’s involvement and hard work with the Fete each year the Club has managed to buy new equipment and have also donated £250 towards the Church Roof and recently £250 towards the re-build of the village hall. Mrs Chapman is very passionate about sport for all ages and would like to hope that the new village hall is big enough, not only for table tennis, but perhaps badminton as well.
She now thinks the time has come, after 11 years, to hand over the running of the club to someone else. She also feels it would be good for the youngsters of the village to have their own club and is sure that there must be some mothers and fathers out there who have some keen ‘offspring’. If there is anyone interested please let her know. She would like to thank all the members who have supported her over the years, Sue at The Rising Sun for the chips each week, and Audrey for keeping her on her toes!
