The Link Scheme drives people to have vaccinations, to the GP, to hospitals, shops, hairdressers, social events and the like. It will also visit the housebound or lonely and do their shopping. We cover Brinkworth, Christian Malford, Dauntsey & Foxham.
A shout out for Christian Malford who has provided 13 of the 22 drivers. We need more people to drive clients to the doctor, shops, hospital etc. (45p per mile driven paid to volunteers). In 2019/20 we had 38 volunteer drivers, now just 22!
If you don’t fancy driving could you be a good neighbour friend, visit somebody who is housebound and chat over a cup of tea and a biscuit.
A big thank you to Ian and Margaret, our long-serving co-ordinators, without whom the entire service would fail. They take phone calls/messages on the Link mobile phone and pair up clients and volunteers. We are looking for somebody to join them.
